Elmdale, Jan 4 - John Wesley Grubb, 87, died at his home a mile east of here Sunday night at 8:45 o'clock following an extended illness. Death was due to a complication of diseases. Mr. Grubb (sic) had been in failing health for a year and had been seriously sick the past 3 weeks. Born March 24, 1849 near Greenfield, Tenn he was the son of William and Mary Ray Grubbs. His marriage to Elizabeth J. Lewellen took place May 25, 1879. Mrs. Grubb died in 1919. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Grubb started housekeeping on a farm 10 miles SW of Crawfordsville. They moved to the farm near here 46 years ago and since that time had resided there continuously. The survivors include a son, William C. Grubb, who lived at the family home; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Blackford of Waynetown; two granddaughters, Mrs. TC James of Cranford, NJ; and Miss Evelyn Blackford a teach in the Crawfordsville schools, and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held at the Elmdale Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. IC Overman, pastor of the Waynetown Baptist Church and Rev. Guy E. Tremaine, pastor of the Waynetown Methodist Church in charge. Burial in Waynetown cemetery. - kbz
